The Details

Hello there, I'm Kasey and this is my silly attempt at a blog. I have many roles in life of which I am proud: I am a wife, best friend, and confidant. I am a feminist and an advocate. I write poetry and believe in equality. I am a bowler and I am quietly competitive. I am an artist and photographer. I graduated May 2012 from the University of Saint Francis with a Bachelor's in Studio Art: Concentration in Photography; Minor in Art History. I will embark upon my Master's Degree in fall 2012.

I have a wide variety of interests that span the length of a rainbow. I would be a lifetime student if it were feasible. I love to learn.

I am newly addicted to celery and Ranch. I am also a coffee and tea addict and I prefer my own brew over a coffee house... but I do love cafes. I also love red, red wine, (you sang that, didn't you? Don't worry, I did too,) and it has to be sweet; I can't do the bitter, dry stuff. I have a very strong love for animals and more often than not, I prefer their company over that of some humans! I absolutely adore cooking and baking. The feeling I get from it is indescribable. I am also a bibliophile and I love, love, love Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, and Stephen Colbert. Last summer Brandin and I went to all three screenings of the director's cut versions of Lord of the Rings. I was in nerdy-girl heaven.

I love NPR. It isn't uncommon to see me laughing alone in my car as I listen to Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me.

I met my husband via MySpace (no, really) on a whim in 2007 after a horrible break-up with my ex. I wasn't looking for love, but I definitely found it. We've had our share of waves over the years, but we always float back to one another. On a sunny and warm day in the fall of 2010, we were married. It was Halloween and it was so incredibly fun. He has introduced me to so many things that I never experienced or vowed to avoid. I am now a World of Warcraft and Dungeons and Dragons addict, UFC fan, and I am slowly developing a fondness for sushi. If you had met me five years ago, you'd understand why this is jaw-dropping. He tolerates my eclectic taste in music and love of strange movies and I encourage his bank-breaking addiction to building Legos. It really must be love.

It should be noted that my chopstick skills are horrendous, though the sight is beyond amusing.

Late this spring we found out we will be adding to our family in January of the new year! Here's to firsts. It's going to be a long year!
